Safeguarding Policy:
As a Musician's Union member, I am committed to:​

Upholding the highest standards of safeguarding, child protection and protection of vulnerable adults

Maintaining an up-to-date DBS check (or equivalent in Scotland or Northern Ireland)

Following the Musicians' Union’s Safeguarding Code of Conduct, in particular: ​

Maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct at all times.

Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding principles and abiding by these

Abiding by the MU’s Music Sector Code of Practice which discusses issues of bullying, harassment and discrimination
-
Reporting disclosures and concerns sensitively and professionally.

Online Lessons Safeguarding Policy:

Video calling is to be used for music lessons only and not for other contact e.g. sharing photos or general messaging.

Parents should set up a profile on behalf of their children and make sure that the profile is restricted so that students can only receive calls from known contacts.

Students should not wear excessively informal clothing and should not present against a messy background.
-
The teacher may terminate the call if any of the above guidelines are not followed.

Cancellation Policy:

Lessons cancelled by the Student or Parent with at least a week’s notice will have no cancellation fee charge.

Lessons cancelled by the Student or Parent with less than a week’s notice will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.

Lessons cancelled by the Student or Parent with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged a 100% late cancellation fee.
In the event of a late cancellation, I will do my best to help you reschedule the lesson and will take mitigating circumstances into consideration.
