Safeguarding for Online Music Lessons

Safeguarding is vitally important when taking lessons online.

Please see a summary of the Musicians Union advice for online music lessons below:

• Video calling is to be used for music lessons only and not for other contact e.g. sharing photos or general messaging.

• Parents should set up a profile on behalf of their children and make sure that the profile is restricted so that students can only receive calls from known contacts.

• Students should not wear excessively informal clothing and should not present against a messy background.

• The teacher may terminate the call if any of the above guidelines are not followed.
